This is a barium meal which shows a large lesser curve gastric ulcer with typical radiating folds. Up to 20% of large gastric ulcers will undergo malignant transformation. Patients who have undergone surgery for previous benign gastric ulceration, have a 5-8 times increase risk of developing subsequent gastric carcinoma.
