Describe the clinical findings?
What is the differential diagnosis?
What investigations might be done?
There is swelling with erythema and oedema of the right scrotum. Differential diagnosis would include epididymo-orchitis, testicular torsion or an incarcerated inguinal scrotal hernia. Ultrasound scan can be used in the diagnosis of torsion but the decision for surgery is often made on clinical grounds alone.
