BULL GORE INJURY

A 35 year old female was admitted following bull gore injury to the perinuem. On examination the injury was extending from the anal canal to the middle third of the rectum. The rectal mucosa was lacerated and there was also injury to the sphincters. A defunctioning sigmoid colostomy was performed.
