Arthroscopic and laparoscopic triangulation technique

Mr Sameer Singh MBBS FRCS (Eng)

Acquiring triangulation skills is important for laparoscopic and arthroscopic surgery. A good method to shorten the learning curve is to hold the instruments with the index finger pointing down its length. The natural co-ordination used to point the index finger is extremely powerful, that most people can touch their nose even with their eyes closed. This can be a useful adjunct in learning arthroscopic/laparoscopic surgery.
